SWS Outside Extra is an airtight, vapour open and driving rain tight window connection tape for external use, with a powerful self-adhesive strip for adhesion to the window frame. and on the back side a powerful full-surface self-adhesive layer. Can be plastered directly or finished with an external wall insulation system (ETICS). Part of the SOUDAL WINDOW SYSTEM.

Applications

  • SWS Outside Extra window tapes guarantee an air- and driving rain tight and vapour open connection from the window frame to the load-bearing construction around it. This flexible membrane can also be used as an air- and driving rain tight seal of all kinds of wall connections. For exterior use only.

Instructions

  • SWS Outside Extra may only be applied on the outside. Depending on the situation, the installation of SWS Outside Extra can be carried out before or after the installation of the façade element (e.g. window frame). There are 2 methods to apply the SWS Outside Extra. It's possible to work with one long single strip or with 4 separate strips. In both cases, extra material must be provided for the corners. Apply the foil, after unrolling and removing the release liner, with the self-adhesive strip (on the printed side) to the side of the façade element OR remove the split liner from the small adhesive strip on the non-printed side and apply the foil on the front of the façade element. Always ensure that the text is readable towards the view sight. Remove evenly the remaining split liner. Apply the foil on the structure, not too tight to absorb any movements between the various building elements. The adhesive layer of the foil is pressure-sensitive, the more firmly its pressed, the better the adhesion. To do this, use a pressure roller.
