At Soudal UK, giving back to our local community is an important part of who we are.
Recently, we had the opportunity to support Jessie’s Journey, a family-led charity based in Tamworth that provides practical and emotional support to families affected by childhood cancer. Founded by Danielle and her family following daughter Jessie’s cancer diagnosis, the charity has become a valuable source of comfort, guidance and community for local families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.
Operating from its community store and hub at Ankerside in Tamworth, Jessie’s Journey supports not only children undergoing treatment but also parents, carers and siblings, who can often feel overlooked during a cancer journey.
Supporting families when they need it most
As part of the charity’s next stage of growth, Jessie’s Journey is creating a dedicated counselling room and sibling space within its hub. These new areas will provide a warm, welcoming environment where families can access emotional support, connect with others and spend time in a comfortable, non-clinical setting.
To help make this vision a reality, Soudal UK has donated products to support the refurbishment and fit-out of the new rooms, helping to create spaces designed for conversation, creativity and connection.
The dedicated sibling room will offer young people a place to relax, socialise and spend time with others who understand the challenges of having a brother or sister affected by childhood cancer. Meanwhile, the counselling room will provide a safe and supportive environment where families can access professional support when they need it.
Supporting the community shop
Alongside donating products for the refurbishment, Soudal UK has also provided donations to Jessie’s Journey’s community store and pop-up shop.
The shop plays an important role in raising funds for the charity’s ongoing work, helping to provide welfare boxes, practical resources and support services for families across the region. Every donation helps Jessie’s Journey continue making a positive difference in the lives of those navigating childhood cancer.
