Soudal installed solar panels on the roof of Plant 2 in Turnhout last summer. The investment in this alternative energy source is yet another step for Soudal in its ambition of expanding the business operations in a sustainable manner.

Specifically, this involves a photovoltaic installation of 2727 solar panels spread over an area of 10,000 m². This represents an installed capacity of 750 kWp. The total investment of 600,000 euros should be recoup over a realistic term of 8 years.

However, the investment is based on an ecological rather than an economic reflex. Rather than a payback effect or a partial independence from the regular power supply, Soudal aims to contribute to the circular economy and to greening the Belgian grid.
