Fireproof filling

Fireproof filling

You feel safer with a flame-retarding PU foam. We will explain in steps how you insulate using a foam that slows the spread of fire.

Instructions

1. Prepare the door post and the wall

Remove dust and grease from the surfaces. Moisten the wall and the door post with the plant sprayer.

2. Shake the spray can vigorously

Put on protective gloves and safety glasses. Shake the spray can for 20 seconds. Open the valve of the Genius Gun and fold the hose straight.

3. Fill the opening between door post and wall

Hold the spray can upside down and spray Soudal Fire Class B1 in the opening between the wall and the door post. Fill the opening approximately 1/3, the foam will further expand. Do you have to fill a large surface? Shake the can again regularly and moisten between the different layers.

4. Leave to dry and touch up

Leave the foam to dry for 1.5 to 2 hours. Cut off the foam where you have used too much.

Tip:

  • Remove non-cured PU foam with acetone or Soudal PU Foam Cleaner.
  • Have you sprayed too much PU foam in the seam or gap at once? Allow it to harden and cut off the excess foam with a cutter.
  • Hardened foam can only be removed mechanically. On non-porous surfaces you can first make the foam a little softer with Soudal PU Remover.
  • Make sure you work in a well-ventilated space so the propellants can escape.
  • A PU foam can be easily applied with one hand thanks to the Genius Gun. You can also apply exactly the right amount and you can re-use the spray can. That is handy if you only want to do a few small jobs around the home.
