Insulation of window and door frames outside

Installing exterior joinery

Thermal and acoustic insulation with Soudafoam Window & Door SWS

A building is constantly moving, and a building consists of various materials that all move independently of each other. Joints between these various parts can therefore best be made with a flexible product. This applies all the more to joints around window frames. Here as well, an elastic PU foam ensures durable acoustic and thermal insulation.

The optimal sealing of window joints consists of good airtightness on the inside, thermal and acoustic insulation in the middle, and excellent protection against the elements on the outside.

Soudafoam Window & Door SWS

For an optimal thermal result, it is preferable to install exterior joinery in the insulation layer. With inset installation, this is done using metal window anchors; for tunnel installation, it is best to use a pre-frame system.

Soudafoam Window & Door SWS with Flexifoam Technology is a professional, elastic PU foam that absorbs up to 50% of joint movement and therefore ensures durable thermal and acoustic insulation. It is particularly suitable for making structural junctions for window installation according to EPB rules and avoiding cold bridges. External laboratories have extensively tested Soudafoam Window & Door SWS for its properties. As a result, Flexifoam is one of two PU foams with RAL approval in Germany, is one of the few with Socotec certification in France, and is also IFT certified. Quality guaranteed!

Acoustic insulation: (EN ISO 717-1)

- 10 mm joint: RST,w = 60 dB (-1, -4)

- 20 mm joint: RST,w = 60 dB (-1, -4)

Thermal insulation: (DIN 52612-1)

- λ = 0.00345 W(m.K)

TIPS ON USE

  • Shake well for 20 seconds. Shake regularly during use.
  • Moisten. Moisten. Moisten. If you work with several layers, also moisten between the layers.
  • Fill the joint up to 65%; the foam will expand further during hardening.
