Hanging up a flat screen TV

Hanging up a flat screen TV

You want to follow team Lotto-Soudal on your brand new wall-mounted flatscreen TV? Why not! But it must obviously be firmly fastened to the wall. With a chemical anchor you are sure of rock-solid anchoring in any surface.

Instructions

1. Mark off the drill holes

Hold the screen mount against the wall to which you want to fix it. Check that everything is perfectly level and mark where you need to drill with a pencil.

2. Drill the holes

Drill the holes 2 millimetre wider than the diameter of your threaded rod. You will find the right sizes for the drilled hole in the Soudal Chemical Anchor technical specifications.

3. Clean the drill holes

Remove all dust and dirt from the drilled holes with the vacuum cleaner. Brush with a cleaning brush. Use the vacuum cleaner again to remove the last of the dust.

4. Prepare the chemical anchor for use

Turn the static mixer on the cartridge and place the cartridge in the caulking gun. Spray the first 10 centimetres of the product away on a piece of cardboard. You can only use it when the product has a uniform grey colour.

5. Fill the drill holes with chemical anchor

Note! The surface determines how you fill the drill holes with the chemical anchor.

  • Porous or concave wall: Place the perforated sleeve in the drilled hole and fill from the back to the front. The product can then spread nicely. Spray sufficient product in the drilled hole.
  • Wall of concrete or solid stone: Fill the drilled hole from the back to the front. Spray sufficient product in the drilled hole.

6. Screw the threaded rod in the drilled hole and allow to dry

Turn the threaded rod clockwise in the drilled hole. Then do not move the threaded rod until the product has hardened.

7. Fix the screen to the wall

When the chemical anchor has hardened, you can fix the screen on the mount. Make sure to fix everything firmly.

Tip:

  • Very important! Check beforehand if the strength of the wall is sufficient. The chemical anchor can bear a heavy load, but you want to be sure that the rest of the wall can too.
  • Have you sprayed too much chemical anchor in the drilled hole? You can just wipe it off as long as the product has not cured. You can also use acetone or white spirit to remove spilled chemical anchor.
  • Hardened chemical anchor can only be removed mechanically. Use a hammer and chisel to chip the residues off.
  • Note! A chemical anchor sometimes causes stains on natural stone. Test beforehand in a concealed place to check that no marks are left.
