Gluing of glass fibre wallpaper

Glass fibre wallpaper is available in many versions: from white embossed paper to high-quality fleece wallpaper with a modern print. You can read here how you can hang it on to the wall quickly and easily in six simple steps.

Hoe doe je het?

1. Clean the wall and delineate

Remove all nails and screws from the wall. Fill holes and cracks with Soudal Repair Express Plaster and make the wall dry and dust and grease free. Using a pencil, draw the line that you will use to position the first strip of paper that you want to hang. Use a spirit level to draw a straight line.

2. Cut the wallpaper to size

Cut the first strip of wallpaper. Make the strips slightly longer than the wall so that you have some excess at the top and bottom.

3. Apply the adhesive to the wall

Thoroughly stir the Soudal Glass Fibre Adhesive pot. Use a lambskin roller, spreader or block brush to apply the adhesive to the wall.

4. Hang the first strip of wallpaper on to the wall

Hang the first strip of glass fibre wallpaper on to the wall while the adhesive is still wet. Start at the top and slowly roll the paper downwards. Ensure that there is some excess at the top and bottom. Press it down and smooth it out using a spatula.

5. Repeat for the next strip

Hang the next strips of wallpaper in the same way on the wall. Always leave a 10 centimetre overlap. Be careful and do not glue together the overlapping pieces.

6. Finish

Cut off the excesses at the top and bottom neatly using a sharp knife. Do the same with regard to the overlapping sections of wallpaper.
