Filling up joints and cracks in concrete

Filling up joints and cracks in concrete

You can quickly repair a small crack in a joint in your façade brickwork with a suitable filler.

Instructions

1. Clean the wall

Remove all dirt and loose pieces of joint or stone. Use a clean brush to remove the dust.

2. Open the cartridge

Cut the top off the cartridge with a safety cutter. Turn the nozzle on top and cut the end slanted. You get the best result if the opening in the nozzle is just as large as the crack you want to fill. Put the cartridge in the caulking gun and squeeze the handle until filler appears.

3. Fill the crack

Place the nozzle where you want to start filling. Squeeze the handle and move the caulking gun over the crack in a smooth movement. Apply sufficient Soudal Repair Express Cement everywhere to ensure that the product adheres well. With wider cracks you can also apply Repair Express Cement with a filling knife.

4. Touch up

Wet the filling knife with clean water and smooth the product. You then get a flat result.

Tip:

  • Do you want to fill a deep crack or a large drilled hole? Do this in two steps. Apply the second layer of filler after approximately 30 minutes. Check that the first layer is dry before you start.
  • You can easily remove the product with water as long as Soudal Repair Express Cement has not cured.
  • You can paint over Repair Express Cement when it has fully hardened.
