Bonding of PVC
Your washing machine’s drain cannot lose a drop of water. Not even at the point where two PVC pipes slide into each other. Let us explain how best to achieve this.
Instructions
1. Preparation
Lightly sand the PVC pipes. Next, use a soft cloth and Soudal PVC Degreaser to clean and make the PVC pipes dust and grease free.
2. Apply the adhesive
Soudal PVC Adhesive is contained in a pot ready-to-use with a brush. Shake the pot before use and apply the adhesive uniformly lengthwise on the two PVC pipes that you want to bond. Note: apply the adhesive over the entire area that you want to bond. This will prevent leaks.
3. Glue the pipes to each other
Firmly press the pipes together immediately without twisting. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes before allowing the bond to bear weight.
Tip
- First perform an adhesion test on the material that you want to bond. This way you will know for sure that the pipework is watertight.
- Ensure your own safety: work using gloves and ventilate the room. If ventilation is not possible, we recommend using respiratory protection.
The following is also useful:
- Excess fresh adhesive can be easily removed using Soudal Adhesive Cleaner.
