Sealing of aquariums
Have you just bought the children a goldfish as a present? You can put the aquarium for the new member of the household together yourself using Aquarium joint filler.
Instructions
1. Clean and dry the surface
Remove all dust and grease from the glass sheets you are to use. Thoroughly dry the surface.
2. Open the cartridge
Cut the top off the cartridge with a safety cutter. Turn the nozzle on top and cut the end slanted. You get the best result if the opening in the nozzle is just as large as the joint you want to fill. Put the cartridge in the caulking gun and squeeze the handle until sealant appears.
3. Start filling
Place the nozzle where you want to start filling. Squeeze the handle and move the caulking gun over the joint in a smooth movement. Apply sufficient sealant everywhere to ensure that the product adheres well. Apply sufficient reinforcement to prevent the glass from bending. Always ensure an adhesive thickness of at least 1 mm.
4. Smooth and remove the tape
Smooth with a filling knife for a tidy result.
5. Filling with water
Allow the silicone to completely dry before filling with water. Leave to dry for at least 4 days
