Filling of holes and cavities indoors
It’s important to fill gaps with a high-quality PU foam to retain the insulation and thermal properties of the wall construction. Whether you have slightly miss-measured a plasterboard panel and need to fill the gap, or simply need to fill around a wall fixture, the Soudal Genius Gun range has a selection of products for you to choose from.
What you do
1. Prepare the plasterboard and the wall
Remove dust and grease from the surfaces. Moisten the wall and the plasterboard panel with a plant sprayer filled with water.
2. Shake the aerosol can vigorously
Put protective gloves and safety glasses on. Shake the aerosol can for 20 seconds. Open the Genius Gun valve and raise the applicator straw.
3. Fill the gap
Hold the aerosol can upside down and spray Soudal PU Foam in the gap between the wall and the plasterboard. Fill the opening approximately 75% if using Genius Gun Insulation Foam. The foam will expand further and fill the rest of the gap. Do you have to fill a large surface? Keep shaking the can regularly and moisten between the layers.
4. Leave to dry and touch up
Leave the foam to dry for 1.5 to 2 hours. Cut off where you have used too much foam.
